Default Baby / Child seats- whats safest?

There was a thread w hile back where someone mentioned a german made seat that has a padded restraint type thing that goes across the babys waist, so its protected in the case of a frontal impact- rather than the 'usual' harnesses.

Anyone know what it was?

Thanks... Simon

How old is the child? On the Which? tests, for babies under 20kg (and so needing a rear facing seat) the Maxi Cosi was the clear winner in terms of safety. There was another clear winner for forward facing seats but can't remember it.

Sign up for a 30 free trial on the Which? site and you should be able to view the report

You could always sell the Scoob and buy a safer german car...

I dont thing a babys body is strong enough to hold itself in a front accident was to occur? though i could be wrong...
