Default performance figures on classic Impreza?

Hi has anyone got or know where I can find a list of all the performance figures for a classic shape UK Impreza turbo? Preferably MY99 to MY00 but I don't mind earlier classics.

I would really like 0 - 30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120 etc along with quarter mile times and top speed.

I used to have a Top gear magazine that tested a MY98 I think at 5.2 seconds 0-60 but I lost it.

thanks.

0-60mph is around 5.2s from memory.

That's on a new(ish) car with a good driver though.

I expect the average driver would be 6-8secs

most of them were modded

Ok, I agree about the "crap" catergory for 8secs.

Average 'best' looks like mid 6s for a modded scoob.

Turbo 2000 Oct 1998-Sept 2000

0-60 5.6 sec
top speed 143mph
standing 1/4 14.3
standing km 26.5
50-70 in top 9.1
30-70 through gears 5.7

(auto car 3/3/1999)

hope that helps.

Look out for a book called you and your subaru Impreza by Chris Rees, loads of facts figures and history, for both JDM and UK models. (get it on your Christmas list ).

Thanks all for your help. I'm really into performance figures for cars so that is very interesting to me.

Those figures are surprising Bob, I would have expected actual 0-60 times to be at least less than 6 seconds 0-60. Judging by other times for other cars it looks as though most couldn't achieve the manufacturer's figures e.g. Nissan 350z at 6.61 0-60.

I'd like to do a recorded 0-60 on mine at some point but so far I've only done unofficial ones with my dad sitting in the passenger seat and pressing stop when my sat nav hit 60mph. I did 3 runs. 1 at 5.6 seconds and 2 runs at 5.5 seconds. Mine has approx 270 bhp though so not standard.

Thanks bmfcrash, will be sure to add that to the xmas list this year. Do you know if it has all the midrange times in there too?

A stopwatch won't be accurate....things like the G-Tech give quite consistent results if used properly (a flat road, 00 reading, a couple of times in both directions, take average). Also gives 1/4mile, braking Gs and cornering Gs. Paid about £50 for mine a few yrs ago.

Have you tried drag racing? It's excellent if you like off the line racing and figures. Quite cheap too.

What the car is capable of doing and what the driver is capable of doing in it are two different things

Has the figures i quoted for the following :-

turbo 2000 94-96
turbo 2000 96-98
turbo 2000 98-2000
Sti type R 22b
P1
STI v3
2.5rs(usa)
New Impreza WRX 2000
WRX2003
WRX STI 2003 with PPP
New WRX STI (japan)
New Impreza WRX (usa)

All this along with Specifications weight, gear ratios, track, power, torque and more.
Limited model editions, production dates and totals plus Subaru history, modding and a whole host more.

If you own a Scooby you should of at least read through it if not have a copy.

(and no im not the publisher )

I also have you and your Mitsubishi Evo by Andy Butler (previous car and a good read also same type of thing)
They are published by Haynes Manuals.

Haven't tried drag racing before but I'm only about an hour from Santa Pod so hopefully I'll go there next month. I know you get quarter mile times but do they tell you any other figures? Would I need a crash helmet as I don't own one?

I agree about what the car is capable of and what the driver is capable of are very different. I heard somewhere once that when roadtesters test performance on cars most the time they are brutal with the gears, clutch etc which of course we don't want to do as we'd have to pay for new ones when they break

Give it a go, you'll probably love it

You will get timing slips detailing:

Reaction
60 ft
330 ft
1/8 ET
1/8 mph
1000'
1/4 ET-
1/4 mph

Should be ok without a helmet with the times you will likely be doing, but worth checking on the SantaPod website.

Is it possible to guestimate the 0-60 from that info?

Can't find my slips from Santa Pod, but I've got a few from York raceway and some from Elvington(not as much info on them though).
