How lucky can a chap be? Last week I registered with Scoobynet. On Sunday, following an enquiry, I gave some limit handling tuition to the owner of a 22B. At the end of the day he asked me if I would like to use the vehicle for a week or so as a thank you for the training he had received. Needless to say, I now have possession of a gleaming 22B and I have been smiling all day.... Tell me, are you all that friendly on here and in no more than five words, HOW LUCKY DO YOU THINK I AM ?

Not all that lucky really.

Me and my mate Harj get to look after a 22B all year round for a colonial buddy of ours.

Last year we use the car on track a few times and took it to the nurburgring.

Oh, we have an RS200 on its way now for good measure. sucks doesnt it!

You are clearly all far more fortunate than I am but by comparison to my MY99UK car, the 22B is great and I feel very fortunate indeed to have the opportunity to see what it feels like to be even more fortunate than myself !!!.

Cool

I'm sure you had permission Pete to take it to Scotland

Here's a photo of how it looked after a few hundred miles of gentle country touring!

Perhaps a candidate for the "cleanest Impreza"

Mr Peck, I know how it feels. A couple of years ago I did some work on a 22B and the owner was so pleased he said I could use the car for two weeks whilst he was away to Hong Kong.

I'm sure I mentioned, as he handed over the keys, that I would be participating in the Tour D'Ecosse, during his trip

I too understand how you must feek Mike! When I took control of my dads car I was extremely happy , best thing is I get to rag it around tracks and places like the Nurburgring when ever I like. If the old man knew what i really get upto in it he would have a stroke Cruises / Drag Runs / Street Racing etc etc ROFLOL

Thumbs down

Erm...Borrowing my dad's Montego estate doesn't seem to have the same effect.

By the way, I've only done that once - And I don't think anyone recognised me!!

I'm back from the states and have just seen the said loan car, it is immaculate - Thanks Mike.
After my incident with a concrete post I decided to learn how to handle my car properly, especially at or near the limit.
Additionally my wife was very nervous and uneasy about no ABS, variable diff and the tramlining effect.
All I can say is that after 3Hrs on a disused airfield and one set of tyres my wife now drives like a demon, it was like unlocking a box. Personally I also gained a great deal but the effect on Debs was very dramatic.
To lend the car out while I was in the states was the least I could do.
Geoff
