New to ScoobyNet, new to Scoobys!!!
Hey guys,
Ive just recently signed up here as ive just recenlty purchased a Scooby and thought i would say hello to the community
Ive come from riding motorbikes most my life but decided a change and with having an interest in Rally i have gained a soft spot for Suburu's, so i bought an N-reg WRX.......wooo hoooo!!!!
The car was bought from a guy who does the Mechanic work for Mark Higgins as he was going to rally it himself but babies came along so he sold it to me. It had been parked up for the good part of 3 years so when i got it it needed a good freeing up and alot of grease lol. Suprisingly though, as a result of it sitting dormant for so long there is only 45000 miles ( yes miles ) on the clock. This thing is seriously fast. Well faster than my ****r'eon Xsara ha ha!
About the car >
N-Reg WRX jap import
Full Scorpion Exhaust
Bailey dump valve
Induction kit
......and thats it. So the engine is pretty much basic then? If thats the case then i have alot to play with!
It also comes with > Aircon, Electric windows and mirrors, Momo steering wheel, WRC pedals. The wheels are original Suburu's.
Money spent >
Car cost £2800
2 new tyres £160 > Goodridge
Insurance £435
MOT £35
Tracker £340 plus £95 annual fee
Tax ( thieving goverment a**holes )
Petrol costs to date £310 > ive owned it 2 weeks now ( cant seem to drive slow at the mo, and i surley would not condone driving fast lol )
Here's a couple of pics >
It was a grey overcast day so i opted to go Black and White in this pic,
The colour is Dark Blue. My pal owns the Supra sat beside mine here. Its had ALOT done to it and also runs on Nitros, it throws out 297BHP. Im not sure on the scooby's BHP but have reason to believe its around 318 though ill be more confident on that figure when i get it on the rolling road! Incidently, ive raced the Supra a few times and i pulled away every time.........wooooosh!!!
This is an HDR image,
I love it that much that im nearly sleeping in it lol Its soooo much fun to drive and has my face in constant stretch mode, not to keen on the amount of fuel it drinks though lol or mabye thats just my driving ha ha!
I have a few questions i hope someone can help me with.
I want to start adding/upgrading the scooby, what would be the first thing you would add/change and why?
I really hate the rear spoiler, what would you put on it and why?
Along with the rear spoiler i would like to get 2 bonnet scoops to replace the small grills on either side of the large central scoop, do you think it would look ok?
Were is the best place to get scooby part and addons?
Many thanks in advance,
Keep ' er sweet as!!!
Stevie

id change the ecu and turbo, may I suggest a td05 and z4 ecu, apparantly a straight swap over.
I like your spoiler but the v5 sti one does look rather nice as well (its the high one)
theres plenty of people that have changed for the small scoops, I dont personally like it, but its your car mate
best place for bits is the net.
try these:

Hey,
RyanSTI, thanks alot mate!!
Shaggy, thanks alot for the great info man. Yea i quite like the look of the V5 so ill prob go down that route. You mentioned a td05 and z4 ecu as a direct swap over, how much more BHP would it achieve?
Burton, what does that mean?
2 days after i bought the car i removed the back plate on both the grills as there was no holes what so ever, and replaced it with tight wire mesh. The reason i done this was because the air filter sits directly under the driver side one so it would get more fresh air circulating. Was this not a good idea or is it fine?
Many thanks for the response guys, its greatly appreciated indeed.
Sweet as!!
