A Friend of mine was hit by a car whilst on a zebra crossing and the car did not stop.

He is OK apart from a fractured leg and has reported it to the police.

Does anybody know any other way of getting compensation for this?

I seem to recall some uninsured loss organisation does anybody have any more details?

"uninsured loss recovery", thats what the companys called, based in KNEBWORTH in HERTFORDSHIRE - 01438 814533. Hope this helps and your m8 gets his xr2's back soon !

I think there is some confusion here.....uninsured loss recovery insurance is a cover you buy (usually as an add on from your motor ins co)to cover you for uninsured losses such as car hire etc if your car is damaged.

What I believe you may be thinking of is the MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau) that pays out against accidents caused by uninsured or untraceable drivers, see:
