Default Safe boost psi

Hi guys,

I have a 02 wrx sti uk prodrive, what should the standard boost psi be, and what is the most / safe i can go to?.

Please can you give it in psi as my boost gauge is psi.

I would have thought the safest you could go is what Prodrive have set it at. Increase the boost and you will eat up the safety margin and run the risk of running lean.

RE standard psi : sorry I don't know what it is.

If you want to run more boost the car will have to be remapped so that the array of other parameters e.g. fueling and ignition are all set correctly. Also, to get the most out of a remap. It's not about getting as much boost as possible, it's about getting the best results from the most conservative boost level possible.....well it is if you want the engine to last. Generally in the range of 1.3 to 1.5 bar on an STi with forged pistons will produce very nice, reliable results.
