Swiss does some bodging :)
With my technical knowledge and daring doo, I decided to have a go at changing my centre section on the scoob by MYSELF . I know, I know.
You are all nervous at the prospect and the results, but by sheer fluke and a healthy slice of luck, I managed it And even better I didnt injure myself or anyone else !!
Got this straight through section off a guy on SN (cheers mate ) and with a £3 tub of exhaust sealer set about taking the car apart
Problem is with my driveway, as many of you know, working on the car can be a tad tricky due to the everest south facing slope I have .
But using a combination of two jacks, a trolley jack, 2 axle stands and an old wheel, I managed to get enough clearance to work.
This is the old one off
Old one with resonator and new straight through section..mmmm shiny
Had to resort to twatting the rear bolts with a hammer which kind of unsettled the car and made it wobble ,
but all good. Whacked on the new section after cleaning up the gasket and then went for a test drive.
Car now sounds more Linda Lovelace without being too noisy or asbo collecting
And not too bad on the motorway ...

Well have had a week of the new section on and it sounds foofing lovely
Motorway driving is not too noisy , an increase in volume but I can live with it.
Pickup is great and the burble is far more pronounced
Have kept the old one just in case I decide to swap it back.
A highly recommended mod for anyone wanting the full effect
