you will not be dissapointed with an afterburner vortex back box and an afterburner mid section. You will find many people on here with the vortex and all agree its a great sounding peice of kit which will not annoy your neighbours but is loud enough to please your ears. Both are available from scoobyworld. The ASBO nur-spec will annoy your neighbour espically if you leave for work early.

The new Nur Spec RX is the one to get, has been designed to reduce noise to comply with regulations and give awesome performance gains.

Phone Keith at Revolution. He does cracking prices for scoobynetters on Blitz pipes without the need for a GB in most cases. I had mine from Revolution but it was ordered and dispatched direct from blitz-uk.

Blitz UK: Products > Exhausts > Nur Spec-RX > 68118

They do fit MY06's even though they aren't sold up to this year

If I were to replace mine for something quieter it would be this...probably

How can a catback exhaust give any performance gain?

Surely this can only be achieved as part of a decat-sportscat setup

There is more than one restricive cat in the exhaust system of the Impreza.
Although the De-cat downpipe/Sports Cat releases the majority of the power a full free flowing exhaust is required for maximum gains. The deletion of the other 2 cat's from the rest of the system will allow the system to breath more and therefore increase performance.

TSL Pulse Extraction Exhaust, although you can only get it as a Turbo Back System.

Fair enough, no harm done.

PS The TSL System is a serious bit of kit and it has a 100 Cell Race Cat but it isn't cheap. I've had mine on for almost a year now.
