I currently have the SS downpipe & backbox and was wondering if the MID SECTION was added, would it make a difference to performance and noise levels
please let me know (Pete included)

I have the same vehicle as yourself and found the straight through centre too loud. They can make one with a resonator box which is a bit more usefull if you suffer from hangovers on a Sunday!
performance is v good

I fitted the mid section then the downpipe about a month later. I think the noise is fantastic with a noticeable increase in performance from both upgrades. Motorway driving under acceleration can be a bit droning, but nothing drastic.

Warning! Good and Bad.
If you decat your exhaust then you may get a flame come out off your tail pipe on down shifts. Make sure you protect your body work around your tail pipe.
There are to Saxos that this happens to near me. (Sorry for using a bad word - Saxo).

I certainly plan to get the SS down-pipe, but due to MOT & noise considerations I was going to keep the standard centre section.
Will this still produce pops & bangs on the over-run? (Please say yes ).
How much will fuel consumption be affected by these mods, anyone?
Cheers,
Rik.

Yes to both. You have (i think) a cat still in your centre section and will notice some performance when removing it.
With noise, you will notice slightly more 'zing' around the 4500rpm mark. Its all for the good though, you understand

I have the full Scoobysport and I noticed a big difference when I changed the centre section (to make full SS system).
Noise increased.
Performance on-boost increased.
Performance off-boost decreased.
Fuel consumption increased a little.
This is most likely due to having no cats and no back pressure.
But I love it
Kevin.
