Default Time Attack Superbattle qualifying lap - round 4

Here's my qualifying lap from Oulton Park, Round 4 of the 2008 Time Attack championship. Car entered is my MY05 STi, full road trim, fast road geometry, Moton Clubsport coilover suspension, MD321T with STi top mounted intercooler and uprated pads/discs........dynamatted doors/boot, amps, speakers

Qualifying lap from Oulton Park - 1:38.032

This is what the Club Challange is all about in my eyes and just goes to show what can be done with your average everyday Impreza

Nice video. That looks like a good, effective package - shows what can be done for reasonable money.
How much boost are you running through the 321T?

Nice driving Zak, i remember watching you do that lap from my rear view mirror whislt i was getting ready for another flying lap, only to find the session chequered as we came round.

Well done, top driving, and a well set up car.

For the record, my car has a GT35/42 turbo on it, and was running at about 460bhp at the weekend due to the exhaust back pressure from the bung only allowing 1.65 bar peak instead of 1.9bar flat line.

1.5bar on track so torque is somewhat lower than the 1.8bar road setting.

Thankyou Steven, I'm glad it came good for you in the final lapping 1.5 seconds quicker than my best performance

Interesting concept, lowering power outputs as the season progresses Seriously though what bung were you using? When I was pulled at Bedford for being too loud a quick trip to Zen had me with a nice new bung that although reducing power it didn't feel by much. I haven't dyno'd it with the bung but I suspect around 20bhp?

Shame I missed Silverstone, thanks Toyo lack of points opportunity there really has had an impact on my overall standing of 14th.

Is that still on the standard internals?

No, built 2.5ltr at Knockhill and Oulton. At Donnington it was running at 1.7bar on the standard 2.0ltr lump and TMIC.

Junk Bob, I don't know what you mean , no room for passengers though unless they're small (very) and don't mind being strapped into the back in a rear facing seat

A home brew one from bits of metal i had lying around. Made it Wednesday evening before Oulton, it dropped the DB from 107.6 to 99 at 5000 rpm. Due to work load, i didnt have chance to sort it before, so had to gamble on the map being ok.

First time map was looked at was after the qualifying session, when Pat refused to up the boost at my request, so it was left as is, 1.65bar, as AFR's were still spot on.

The power difference was very noticeable. At Silverstone i could go past Tim in the Porsche like he was stood still. At Oulton, once i went into 5th, he pulled away from me

Chuffed to bits with how the car performed, considering the last minute adjustments, and really pleased with my result for such a technical circuit.

Did you get to practice Friday Steven or was Saturday you first time on track at Oulton?

Anyone know if we have track time available on the Saturday before Brands Hatch?
