Mean, Mean, Mean!
All ford have to do is make it AWD, the public (ok, rally nerds & petrol heads) are calling out for it.
IMO that's how the new MY08STi should've looked.

Looks amazing!
With 300bhp through the front wheels I will expect one of these to hit a tree every other week. Shame AWD and I would have bought one... in fact over the MY08 I may take my chances with the tree.

This was in a magazine I looked through the other day and one of the comments was that it was no longer just down to the Scoobys, R32s etc..They reckon that this can hold it's own with all of them.
Looks ok though.

That looks quality. very mean. FWD with 300bhp is stupid. isnt it 225bhp max through front wheels?
will eat through tyres. would of thought a leather interior to.
but imo if they had gone 4wd. subaru and mitsi would be in deep $hit as for under 25k its a hell of a car

Ford have solved the rusty wheel archs problem since my days.
That Focus RS would kill the sales of the New STi.

I can't see the RS being available on the Ford Privilege scheme. The last one wasn't and I can in no way see it happening with this one.
I've also heard that the prototype has lapped the 'Ring at 8 mins 15 secs at the hands of their test driver.

depends entirely on demand and your position in the company. iirc the main reasons the series I wasn't available was because of the limited production numbers and actual production cost of the derivative.

If it did then the diversity issue would come into effect which Ford is very keen on promoting within the company. Employees simply wouldn't stand for it anyway. The Privelege scheme was changed not so long ago anyway and now buying a car on it doesn't really offer the savings it once did.

I think it's horrible, not as bad as a new Sti but still pretty rank. The black photoshopped version improves it slightly only because you can't see how bad it looks.
Nothing wrong with liking it though, taste is a personal thing.

Remember the kit car rally cars? A certain Mr Loeb drove Citroen's Xsara version before getting the WRC drive. With NA engine there were no restrictors and Citroen hit an alleged 360bhp. With less weight than the 4WD WRCs they were seriosuly quick on tarmac.
Seem to recall one coming very close to winning one of the tarmac rallies, possbily Corsica, overall. So you can do 300 bhp through the front wheels..... if you have, I don't know, say £100k's worth of active diff.
