Default Birmingham beware, car jacking

Dear all,

I got car jacked on Saturday night by a group of asian lads in a Silver Subaru Forester 2.5 Turbo. They were carrying axes, and crowbars. I managed to get away a few times, but I eventually hit a dead end in the Sparkhill area.

Be very very careful, and cautious about any car behind you.

Regards.

Yeah they got it in the end. I hit a dead end, they rammed my car, started chopping away at the windows again, so I just said have it. It ran out of petrol just down the road, but I bet there's going to be substantial damage on it when I go to see it later.

Im so glad i moved away from Birmingham it was bad a few years ago but seems to be getting worse . everytime i come back someone gives me a reason why i moved away , i miss brum and my friends and family but the south west is such a nicer place to live (not having to worry about being atacked over something stupid and of course there are some lovely roads to enjoy in the sccoby). hope everything gets sorted for you and don't let them get you down .
be safe and smile

Well thanks for this, i got to go to Birmingham next week, mind you, i drive a wagon so no regulation blue, gold alloys or ironing board, the thick barstuards will probably think it's a Volvo and not notice me. Anyway, gutted for you mate, makes you wonder what sort of society we live in. Thing is we know what sort of society we live in, and Tony Blairs done one, leaving Gordon to take the rap!!!!

Right, wow my car's a bit of a mess Due to the amount of cabling ripped out and body damage it's possible that it may be a form of write off. The car will need recabling which is many many man hours, replacing of the speedo cluster, need both drivers side doors replaced, sprayed etc, need new rear bumper, possibly boot lid, along with rear body work by the light straightened out as the light has popped out and won't sit straight.

Funnily enough, left all my ICE, gauges etc.

Not just mine they took either. There was a black one behind mine in the yard that came in not too long after mine, they've basically destroyed the speedo cluster looking for the tracker, done it exactly the same on both cars. So I'm thinking it's less personal and they were maybe on the look out for an Impreza to take for whatever reason. Will post some pics in a bit.

Just add that I was with a friend when it happened, luckily he stayed calm too, and I got him out of the car with ease which is good. Police found a cap in the back of my car which is obviously theirs..

Really sorry to read this mate.

Not nice at all. Those *******s will come a good n' one day. We hope!! I think you and your friend did the right thing mate and let them take the car. At the end of the day its metal and not worth the possible outcome that sadly happens.

Chin up mate. If they do it to someone else lets hope the brakes give out near a cliff for the ****ers to go down with it.

Not to bad here at all thanks bud

I was not sure if it was you or your father Kosta as I know you both post under the same name, very relieved to hear that you are ok and not hurt in any way... you did the right thing as there is no way you should endanger yourself in this situation, was it the Blob still ?

Typical it had to be the new one as well

Sounds a bit odd maybe me saying this but get the rears tinted if they are not already, at least this way who ever may be following does not know who or how many people are in the car plus if it's daylight they cannot see your face in the mirror.... just that small air of mystery may be enough to make possible car jackers step back away from an unknown situation.

Shocking stuff and I'm just glad you're alright. Did you manage to get the plate or descriptions of the counts to the police? Likely you weren't the first for this behavior.

I like the idea of the tinting and I'm considering it too.

Hope all goes well and this doesn't scare you away from another Impreza.

This is the kind of thing that the police ought to set up sting operations for IMO. Trawl a tasty looking scoobie through Birmingham, wait for them to show themselves, and then jump 'em. Oh, and if anyone happens to get marched face-first into a lamppost on the way into the back of the Black Maria, so be it ....
