Hi,
I'm awaiting the arrival of my Sti Wrx to replace a MY99, but other half is looking for a car as well.
Looking for a car that will seat 3 children ages 7-15 in back ?
Can we have views on:
Toyota RAV4 2.0 TD (new)
Toyota Verso
Chrysler PT Cruiser
Honda CRV
These are some that she likes but after people views.

Cheers,

Dave.

Subaru Forester beats everyone on your list.

And I’m being objective.

The RAV 4 is the best of that bunch. If she decides on the PT C (women are strange and you can't second guess them), don't even consider being a passenger, never mind driving it. It is one of those cars you deny even knowing anyone who has one.

Got a 3dr RAV 2.0 NRG as a coy car.

Its a blast, fun to drive, well made, wife loves it.

But, you'd need the 5 door to get three kids in the back. 3 door has only 2 belts due to space/configeration.

CRV is 5 door anyway, but no diesel option IIRC. Also fun to drive, same great visibility.

Yaris Verso is pretty expensive for what it is.

Wouldn't touch the PT cruiser personally, but thats on looks alone.

New CRV is very good. Lots of room as before in the back, and good handling for what it is, economy suffers on them expect 23-28 mpg on average, but it now has the new i-VTEC engine, similar to the Civic Type R, but only 150bhp. Rav 4 is very nice too, but I didn't think it was that roomy. Never driven a Yaris Verso, looks alone would stop me doing that, but I can't imagine its that the seat width is upto having three kids across the back. Pt Cruiser to me personally looks great, and is certainly very roomy, I was comfortable in the back, and I'm 6ft 3inches and have eaten all the pies, but have a drive in it first to engine is rough and the ride is a bit iffy too

Oh forgot to say, if your looking for a diesel the PT Cruiser will soon have the Mercedes 2.2CDi unit in it, just under an assumed name.

Anything but a PT Cruiser. What a hideous looking vehicle. When I first saw one I thought all it needs is flames painted down the side and you too can look like ZZ Top. Well last Wednesday in Rochdale I saw it, a black PT cruiser with flame decals down both sides. I would have told you all sooner, but I've only just stopped laughing.

Regards,

tiggers

If yer missus isn't going to drive in fields get a forester, it handles loads better than any other 4x4 on road. The chrysler? Too wierd for my liking!

lol
I like the look of the PT (but not the new bug eyed scoob ) so theres no accounting for taste (although I'd never get one myself).. I think it looks different.. I'm all for a bit of variety on the roads, beats loads of jelly moulds. Japs can't draw a car to save there lives, good job they can make em work well

Thumbs down

RAV4. Rear door doesn't open fully, restricting usefulness of the luggage compartment. Design fault or 'feature'? Check it out before buying.

Thanks for all the replies.
She is going down to Maidstone this afternoon to testdrive the new Honda CR-V.
I found the RAV4 5 door to also have a lot of body roll on it aswell.
