Vanishing Threads
I really don't like the fact that a thread I posted in this morning and IMHO had kicked off some very useful discussions on rating suppliers for the quality of their work / service (and which would be of REAL benefit to the community) has been removed with no explantion. WTF!

If you think Scoobynet is bad you should see some of the other forums.
I know of one (non-Subaru) where one of the advertisers is a mod, so guess what happens to any thread with a negative feedback to his company

It may have been that the discussion was good but the OP had re-posted the same as a thread that had been moved to Dealer/3rd Party (which is where those sort of threads should be anyway), so I vaped it.
& before you ask why could I not leave the thread but delete the OP stuff, the answer is that it all gets very complicated and takes time.
By all means start a new thread to discuss rating of suppliers - but don't name them!

Very happy for you m8

Don't you think the only businesses with anything to fear would be those that screw customers over on a regular basis, in which case they don't deserve new business! It might even make certain suppliers (well the ones that want to remain in business) improve their service, which is to the benefit of the whole SN community.

Huh ... and what use would that be then? Ooh, I had really good service from (oh damn I would love to tell you, but I just can't say).

It's not fair that SC should get away with what they are doing
I can't believe that we cannot get a say in this, we should be able to speak the truth to help others in their decision. I have praised people when I have had good service, and should be able to report when I have had bad.
Would it help having a self written disclaimer on the post?

Doh! Misunderstood me... Sorry
The OP in this thread was miffed that discussion on the SUBJECT of discussing 3rd Party Suppliers was deleted. My comment was that it was alright to discuss in the General Forum.
However, discussion of Dealer & 3rd Party should be undertaken in the correct forum.
IE - Please post in the correct forums!
Thanks!

Could you just not have moved this thread into the suppliers forum Puff, and deleted the sister thread that was in there?
This one had far more input - valuable input IMHO - to a scoobbynet member who may be looking out for a recommendation, than the thread that has remained?

I hate to say it, but for those who read that thread... I told you so!
Isnt it odd? The people moaning are the people lining the Forums pockets!! You pay your money
OK ... could you please enable Poll's in the dealer and third party forum then, as I would like to create a Poll for each of the suppliers.
Thanks
Thanks

One has to be VERY aware of the noobs or users with low post counts
Very easy to post up a thread reccomending yourself as anonymous alias
I Rtm'd a noob the other day advertising his company down Heathrow way; the fact that he used teh same user name and posted indentical posts in several other forums kind of gave the game away
There is no escaping Google, Board tracker and Board Reader.
