think there is about six of them bolts. the metal underneath is held on by two, maybe three screws. the metal piece comes off the light when the light is removed.
The mastic stuff is a standard feature, if its the black, non drying type stuff.

No that is attatched to the light. Basically the mastic is holding it in. Gently tap the screws with a hammer and ease the lights out.

The reason the previous person used so much mastic is cos the lights are really hard to seal properly and leak.

As above ...but make sure you've got all the bolts off, there's a tricky one that sits deap inside the rear wing that is easily missed.

I used the hammer technique without much joy, so used a metal trim removal tool & slowly prized them out from the inside.

& as above, the metal sections under the lights are attached to the light's themselves

If you've got standard rears & the 'mastic' is black then it's probably the stuff they used in the factory ...I removed all mine with a scraper & some white spirit & replaced with some thick 15-20mm neoprene foam, just in case i needed to take them off again!

As above.

HOWEVER: if they've been refitted/sealed with silicone, you're in for a long job removing them, best of luck

Refitting: the correct stuff to use is a non-setting mastic, mine came from a caravan dealer made by a company called Carafax, but I've recently learned that Halfords sell it.
