Question

When I have my car serviced and I pick her up it seems to go like a bat out of hell for a few miles then seems to get sluggish again over the next few weeks??

Now, it has happened after EVERY service (4 now!!), so I am convinced that it really happens and isnt just my stupid imagination!!

Is it nice fresh oil??

Do the dealers do a reset of the ECU??

Do they put something special in the tank, free and without letting on?? as if!!!

Any clever, stupid, funny or sensible suggestions accepted!

Pete

Maybe the ECU reset they do via the select monitor. Maybe worth trying a few tanks of SUL or optimax if you dont already use it and I have heard GW are worth at least a second 0-60 .

Seriously my MY98 UK was worse when I got it back from service as I always ran on SUL but adjusted back within 20 miles or so.

cheers

Same here, but I think it's all in the mind

I work offshore for two weeks out of four and when I get back my car seems to go like a bat out of hell as you said. Over the next week or so I think it gets slower. Then hey presto , go to work come home car rappid again.

Thats my 10p worth

I have felt this phenomenom for years even back in the days of 205 GTI 1,9 ownership in the early nineties. Pick car up from service, and WOW, it feels smoother and faster. Must be the new oil giving smoothness and feeling of extra power, in fact there is none. Psycological effects IMHO.

Do they give you a Justy as a service loaner.

Going back to the Scoob from that would do the trick

Last time I had mine serviced, I nearly wrote it off on the roundabout outside the dealers, the justy-impreza difference was unreal, I don't think the two people I nearly wacked at the roundabout were best pleased, ah well, all part of the fun I say!

after a service,I have noticed that my car feels sluggish.since fitting a boost guage,I now see it boosts lower for a while.the car was peaking at 15psi and holding 14,going to get serviced, coming home an hour later it was peaking and holding 13 .20 min later all was back to normal.
