If the previous owners have all been big enough ***** not to keep the certificate, then I'm sure they've all been perfectly sensible enough to look after the car properly.

Walk away from it.

why are they? mine never came with a cert but i took subaru's word for it and took it on a rr just to be sure. As said above just ring subaru with the chassis no. If it is ppp the seller should have no problem giving it to you

It always amazes me how many cars with PPP never seem to have the certificate when a car is passed on. Are the previous owners stupid....do they lose the V5 as well, or are there just a lot of dogs around that eat PPP certificates specifically...? To me it shows carelessness...or stupidity...or both. That's enough to make me walk away from a buyer, cos god knows what else he/she's been stupid with.

Yes you are perfectly correct, can find out from Subaru or Prodrive, and while you're at it, check that the car hasn't been accidentaly run into a brick wall at 45 miles an hour cos one of the previous owners' dogs ate the foot brake.

There are enough cars out there at the moment to choose from. I personally would find one with a certificate.

My certificate went straight into the manual wallet in the glove box and therefore it was present when the car was sold on, its not rocket science

...is exactly what a quality responsible owner would do.

Im on North downs with this one, there is a huge choice of cars out there, plenty with the certificate.

If you really have your heart set on this one then as suggested a call to subaru with the VIN.
