Whae a load of bollox! They actually give me a Refusal of MOT certificate, then when I got there and took it off they passed it! Bloody Idiots!

thats not the worse one i heard, i heard a MOT tester failed a car beacuase an airfreshner(sp) was on the rear view mirror and apprently was blocking the view of the road ahead

I have mine tomorrow and I will be removing child seat, air freshener, sat nav, child blinds. I have a windscreen chip in the drivers side obscured by the bonnet scoop but I am still a little worried.

cant have anything hanging off the rear view mirror, or a sunstrip if the wipers go over them, shorter blades would sort it if the testers an unhappy man

child seats are fine, as long as the child seat belt works, as thats tested but the car belt cannot be tested if it's hooked on the child seat

I got an advisory last time for not being able to test the belt restraining the child seat

only cos they cant test the belt but it's still a pass, dont worry about that, i'd be more worried about the chip as it sounds like it's in the swept area

My mates people carrier nearly failed because he didn't have all 7 seats in it, the examiner had the pass sheet printed but wouldn't give it to him until he went home and got the 7th seat. A return trip of about 20 miles as he had to go get his house keys off of his wife at work in order to get in to get the 7th seat.
