revs dropping on classic sti and then stalling
Every so often i come to a stop and dip the cluth the revs are falling all way to 0 then back up then it stalls . I have have checked the dump valve and there seems to be nothing wrong with it . What else could it be ? Anyone
On the standstill the idle is on 1 but keeps going up and down
The car is totally standard
Thanks

My classic uk car used to do that, was advised to change the MAF which helped but every now and again it would still do it.
I got the idle control valve looked at and it was suggested that i replaced it but as it was an intermitant thing I never got round to doing it.

Try a search on here mate, this is a v common problem but I think 2 most likely have been raised - MAF or ICV. I had this and it was the MAF - repacement cured it and never had any problems after that. Advise you get it checked out as if it is MAF it can do serious engine damage. Think MY99/00 cars in particular had crap MAFs, though it may just have been the UK T2000s

thanks for input. Its never stalled on idle just when im driving the car a dipping the cluth to slow down.
Whats the correct rev the scooby should be at on idle?
Just hope it' not too expensive to put right. Will diagnostics pick it up.
