ok here goes i spoke to him he sais hes not quite sure how much power it has or whats been done power wise when i asked he started stumbling but then he said it has over 250bhp(with drum brakes ) sweet i replied real scooby killer hay yeh youl have to be quick cos ive got alot of intrest he says
i was looking through a vaux. performance mag the other week and they had blokes with 2.5 v6 lumps n i think the most i saw was 230bhp which had thousands chucked at it so hes done very well to get over 250 from a 2ltr with originally 150bhp with these mods

the 2ltr valver engine is around 150bhp if its the turbo lump which it isn't, it's 200bhp. The only way the car gets quicker is due to weight. My friend had a corsa with a 16valve engine in it he thought it was rapid ?? I had a 270bhp cavy turbo at the time so I drove his corsa and thought it wasn't that quick but I noticed more that the brakes felt dangerous as they weren't up to the performance of the car

whata mingeflap, 126k nice and low mileage then - thats the redtop calibra/astra gte 16v lump that bangs out 150bhp when its was brand new! -
Maybe painting the rocker cover white and yellow gives it that extra 100bhp... ha ha
I see these ***** all the time when I pass drive-thru maccy d's when I go to my mums, they all try and impress me with their loud bigbore ripspeed universal backboxes.... nuff said

So in the real world a little 2.0l corsa will be faster??????
I think not!
The real world involves CORNERS not just long straights, and it even RAINS sometimes.
So lets just see... 2.0l corsa + rain + corner = nasty accident!!!!

I have nothing against high powered vauxhalls, my mate has a 2.0l turbo corsa which I have to admit its fecking quick, but it torque steers like a bitch and just spins the wheels in low gears.

then the police found out
so i take it it was insured as a standard 1.2??
oh and please teach me how to slap a 2.0 16v in a corsa and keep the rear drums and front discs the size of a Compact disc
might go and get a cossie engine and put in the wifes fiesta but leave evrything else standard!!!

LOL So he was driving it uninsured then?
It's hard to ascribe any credibility to his claims about it being able to beat any Subaru when he can't even spell 'Subaru'
FWIW A 1.8 engined GSi Corsa is 1090KGs, so I think even a std Impreza would see him off, in a drag race....and god help him when he needs the brakes....or has to get around a corner!
We should be flattered he at least regards Subar's as performance benchmarks I guess!

Call me harsh, but I think that is a great case against us people who know what we are doing sensibly modifying and genuine car enthusiasts.
Nice one sunshine, running around on normal insurance, no modifications declared, standard brakes. The BiB that nailed this little tw@t deserve a pat on the back IMO.
He may love his car, but with standard brakes and no insurance, there's only one place it belongs IMHO:

Just for the record.
And I'm not defending him in the slightest. I have always had a hatred of Nova/Corsa drivers.
The standard Vaxhaull C20XE (redtop) engine was rated at 150bhp in standard catted form. In the earlier non cat cars they were listed as 156bhp.
I used to be into playing with XE motors and had a stripped caged 16v Astra GTE weighing just shy of 950kg's, before the scooby.
I managed to get 178bhp out of my engine with a full ported and polished CosCast head (cast by Cosworth not GM so no porosity problems), Large bore exhaust manifold into matched system.
Breather mods, knife edge throttle butterfly ecotec inlet pipe blah blah etc etc. Basically, if there was a cheap mod possible, I had done it.
And reached 178bhp.
Cams might give him another 20-30bhp but thats the lot.
At most, he's running 200bhp. And with the crap he's got bolted onto that car in the shape of bumpers and exhausts, I bet he's pushing 1150kgs miniumum.
Scooby killer my ****!
Unless your gonna ram raid us you uninsured tw@
