Default MY04 sti ppp power package options?.

was just wondering if anyone could give me some advise.i have an 04 sti with ppp and im looking for a decent power hike(around the 360 mark).i was thinkin of going for rcm headers,a full decat and a k+n typhoon induction kit + remap. should that get me a good power hike or am i being unrealistic lookin for 360 with those items.whats ur opinions guys, what do i need to do. many thanks in advance, pete.

I dont think you are going to hit 360 on the standard turbo.

2.5" decat exhaust, better flowing panel filter and remap should get you 330-340 bhp

Go headers and 3" decat exhaust if you want to future proof yourself for future tuning ie circa 400bhp, although some people will argue that the RCM headers would be optional.

only thing that makes me want to go for the 360 mark is im not sure wether i would feel a big difference going from around 305 to 330 bhp. saying that ive never been in one with around 330/340?.

well 360 is a bit of a bugger, it takes you into new turbo territory.

You could keep your PPP exhaust and you will already have the uprated fuel pump required for your target power.

I think youd be looking at something like a TD05-20G turbo from someone like Andy forrest, maybe colder plugs, possibly an uprated FPR, free flowing panel filter and a remap. Would have thought youd hit 360 with that lot, not sure on torque though.

i've just gone from ppp (jgm lappy said i had 299bhp before). With only colder plugs, green filter de res centre and afterburner back box different to the ppp, the after was 348bhp now jgm said that might be a little high but either way i've gained 49bhp and i can tell the difference quite alot. hope this helps a bit

thanks sounds really good mate, the turbo seems like its going to be the biggest power hike.so headers possibly not the best idea then?. obviously larger bore jobbies r going to cause extra spool up time, but the rcm ones say they have a venturi in the up pipe to reduce spool up time?.

yeah flow matched up-pipe is a sensible option, you can always get your own headers ported.

If its not breaking your budget the RCM exhaust stuff is undoubtedly quality kit, imho i dont think headers would be essential for your power goal. Depends how much £££ you want to spend
