Default Footage of the Stig
Top Gear did some recording at Zolder in Belgium and the local TV co filmed them:

TVL - Top Gear in Zolder

At the end you see the stig with no helmet on...but who is he?

i heard they use different stig's i know one stig is meant to be Ben Collins.

Perry McCarthy has no hair- he was the original Stig but couldn't keep his mouth shut.

I agree Ben Collins has darker hair and is pretty thin on top.

Perry Mccarthy was the black stig, who "died" in the xjs-off-the-aircraft carrier stunt.

He almost made it in formula one, and is a journeyman driver for a few sports including GT

He was replaced because he advertised his book "flat out, flat broke" (good book BTW) as "BBC Top Gears Stig!" which wasn't well received.

The white stig is at least 2 different drivers. If you watch, there are 2x distinctly differing lines taken on the test track.

Search on wikipedia, tells you a lot of info........... Rumours are damon hill occasionally does it for fun

Ben Collins @ least part of the time I know 'cause a m8 worked with him on the latest Bourne film.
My acquaintance works on film cars and sets,and Ben is known as the Stig...

When the Stig was first on the scene he was quite fat, made me think Nigel Mansell, but more to the point he has definetely changed.

When he was fat, I used to tell people that it was my uncle (who is quite a well known racing driver, Gerry Marshall stylee).
