brake problems
my wrx (2004) has really bad brake they are fine untill you start giving it some, you can feel it through the steering wheel juddering, when i bought the car from a garage they fitted a new set of pads, could this be because they are cheap pads,if so what type off pads should i fit that are not a fortune.

Sounds like 'warped' discs to me. I had this, right PITA. You can try cleaning the discs by braking hard from 70 or so a few times. Only thing that really worked though was new discs and pads. If its only happened since new pads, have you tried speaking with the fitter (or was it DIY?). If DIY take it somewhere and ask them to check it out but it could be as above I'm afraid.
Sure there will be other avice which may give you a better outlook. Hope you get it sorted.

depends how badly warped they are like you say its only when you slam on the anchors you notice, slight braking mite not show enough so it pulls on the steering. The only other time ive had a prob with jubbering brakes when the wheel had come loose after slidding into a kerb

when it starts juddering when you have got the brakes hot it judders like hell hard braking or not ,then if you dont brake for a while it fine again

Sounds like they didn't check the run out when they fitted the discs. They're now starting to warp just a little which becomes really noticeable when hard on the anchors.
New discs and pads is the only fix. Just check the run out when you fit the new ones.

2004 WRX running on ordinary 4 pots, 295mm disks, I assume.
If you're serious about your driving and braking, they won't last. Assuming it doesn't judder on the first couple of stops but then gradually gets worse, it's a symptom of overdriving the braking system or possibly, problems with the calipers.
You can try better/harder pads. Say Pagids or Mintex or Ferodo DS2500s. If the car hasn't had its brake fluid done recently, replace that too as it's never the same if it's been overheated.
