Your dealer will be able to confirm what official upgrades were done, and be able to provide a replacement certificate.

that is the prodrive edition STi any PPP car is not recorded in the logbook. However, it may have been PPP'd too.

The 2002 non PPP'd STI had particularly agressive performance characteristics, which were improved on later models.
If the car has very poor performance below 3700rpm and then hits you hard, it has probably not been modified at all.
If it picks up well from about 3000rpm, then it probably either has the PPP or some other similar mod.

The only other obvious sign is that the tail pipe will say Prodrive on a modified one, and STI on a non-modified one, although this is not definitive.

I expect your the same as me.When I first got mine I thought it was a PPP when infact it was "Just" a normal wrx sti with "Prodrive" styling.I've read several threads on here with people making the same mistake as I did.I've got the same on my V5,it says wrx sti prodrive but alas it had not been fitted with a PPP.

I'm afraid so.

Even the official Prodrive cars with the rally spec front bumpers, prodrive spoiler, interior trim etc did not come with the ppp as std. It was a cost option.

IM keep a record of all cars that have been officialy ppp'd. If you ring them with the vehicle details they should help you.

Phil
