Default Heat wrap

I was just about to refit the decat d/p but thought it may be best to wrap it.

Can anyone give me some guidance on how wide it should be and what length is needed. Does the whole d/p need to be wrapped?

Is there any special way of wrapping and whats best to secure the wrap.
Thanks Bob

I wrapped my prodrive d/p 1/2 an inch over on each wrap. The wrap was about an inch if that helps. Then secured it with one metal tie. Not sure what difference it makes really?

Hi Bob, Wrapped the whole down pipe on my WRX a couple of years ago. i over lapped each wrap and secured with stainless cable ties supplied with the wrap(ebay). Cant say much more really except it wiffed for a couple of days and reduced the under bonnet temps. what is the final spec you heading for then Bob? Been following your project.

Did mine the full length of the DP - overlap by a half and used wire every 6 inches to secure. There are several good threads on this topic.

My final spec is .........300/300 but that's just a figure I like the sound.

After coming from 340 in my newage STI I will need 300 or so but I think with the planned mods I will be satisfied.

H+S 3" bellmouth decat d/p
H+S full system with centre decat removed and Japstyle b/box
VF28 Turbo
Walboro fuel pump
3 port boost solenoid
Free flow panel filter

and finally Ecutek road map by JGM or other reputable mapper.

I'm sure it will make well over 280 as alot of classics make this on the standard TD04. Time will tell

Thanks for the interest
