Default Could This Be The End For Sooty Decatted Exhausts??

Was in the small Independent Garage for a service Yesterday.

He had a couple of Nice Imprezas there with immaculate botties.

The Guy explained he T Cuts the outside & inside & spends a bit of time doing that.

When it does get Sooty again, he just wipes the inside/outside with a Kitchen Towel/ Duster & all the Soot wipes straight off.

It forms a protective coat on it.

Just done mine and, it's come up brilliant.

If this works (and I think it does) it'll save a lot of time & effort.

I hope this Tip works for you all.

Regards

I'd be suprised about the protective coating, with the heat of the exhaust it would just melt it.

I always clean my exhaust when washing the car, stops it getting manky and only takes a minute to do.

The colour of the inside of a tail pipe is a good indication of how the engine is running. I therefore like mine the way it is, which is a nice sooty grayish brown..

Andy

I would take Picices but it's hissing down.

I've been to the Pub this evening, given it a bit of a blast on the way there & back.

Only had 1 pint>>>

Looked at the rear it still looks clean!

I will look at it tomorrow.
