Default New Scooby!

Hi All, Just joined and 1st post!

I have just bought my first Impreza and I think its a goodun!

2002 WRX Sti wagon (import) will get pics up as soon as I can!

I think its running at 285bhp, but it doesnt 'burble' like other scoobys, its only a 2 litre so i think it may have equal length headers? Also, it has red manifolds which I am told are good? Any advice on running/subtle engine mod greatly recieved!

Cheers!

shouldnt be equal headers just because its a 2.litre..its only the more recent ones that are 2.5 anyway.

does it have a standard backbox? these tend to be quieter than aftermarket ones.you can soon get the trade mark burble back with a different backbox

Cool, Cheers, The back box is Sti Genome, looks fairly big!

Also have Sti Genome gauges in centre pod.

What about small engine mods?

does it look and sound like this?

YouTube - sti GeNome backbox

if your getting no burble then perhaps equal headers have been fitted then..

as for mods what sort of thing are you thinking? ide stear clear of fitting a dump valve in my opinion, also ide probably say not to fit any kind of induction kit unless you plan to remap your car,but again thats my opinion

02 sti's have unequal headers as standard, if it has equal length they are aftermarket. A red Inlet Manifold is a signature sti engine dress-up, the IM is exactly the same as a WRX version. However, your bottom end will be stronger and there are plenty of people running close to 400\400 on standard sti engines. Standard power is 276bhp although with a remap, full decat and panel filter will make closer to 320\320.

Great choice btw, sti bugeye wagons are rare
