Default hpi check on sti type uk

hi all, just done an HPI check on a plate the car is advertised as an sti type uk and the description the check came back with was - Impreza WRX, not impreza wrx sti type uk is this correct? also the car is advertised as a 2005 model when in fact the car was first registered in 2004 on a 54 plate it has the newer dash. was the newer dash introduced on a 54 plate?. The car is currently on a private plate. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
just done a check on my mates 04 sti on the same hpi checker and the description was- impreza STi type uk anyone know y.

The first MY05 STIs were registered at the end of 2004 so are 54 plates. If there are any pics its easy enough to spot if its an 05 STI - the rear arch extensions, wheels,DCCD etc.

put a link up of the car, someone of here might even know it, 2005 is the model year, which is usually released sept the year before so the fact that they are advertising it a 2005 probably relates to the model year and if its got the newer dash and dccd, wider track etc then thats what it is (my2005)

Could be an import - no Type Uk badge on the rear.Would that be why its not coming up as an STI on the HPI check.

Don't know about the HPI part, but not having the Type UK badge, or mats, points to it being a EU Import.

Nope, the EU imports have the pesky orange triangles in place.

Yeah, I agree with most of the comments. It looks like an EU import. They are the same as type uk apart from immobilizer, mats, underseal, locking wheel nuts and didnt have a 3 year Subaru warranty. Looks a nice car though and decent price

Hu-hum. Think you'll find they do have the 3 year warranty and extended warranty on transmission over the UK counterpart.

It's the alarm that's missing and the tracker.

As far as I know the extended transmission warranty still stands - just you may have to go to Malta or Cyprus to get the work done lol

I though EU's were undersealed as well? Please tell me they are

That STi defo looks like an EU though.

I got mine from scotland but it originally came from germany. It had alarm, tracker, mats and is undersealed.
It was listed as an 05 which it almost was but not quite,it was registered on 31-12-04! but its 05 inside and out.I'll be honest mate that car looks tidy as!!!Get him to email you a load more pics, thats what i done.I got every possible angle photo'd inside and out. Also when i done an HPI check on mine it came up as WRX/STI WR1 for some reason?? But it hasn't missed a beat or gave me one prob in the year i've had it!!

I thought there was a resource on here that let you input the model number of the car, and then it told you all about it. Be it JDM/Euro import WRX/STI etc.

I think it's more you said "an import", not mentioning JDM, when this car and thread is pointing towards an "EU" import.

looks like an sidc sticker on the back window, might be worth asking if someone knows the car on there.

if the owner is selling a genuin car and they spot you asking then doubt they'll be bothered by the questions

Ring TSL, I did this when checking up on a potential car and they were extremly helpful, had been told the car I was looking at had a 8k conversion upto 400bhp......TSL confirmed they'd only done it upto 333hp and it was a load of old........

They should have some info on the car.

Also as I mentioned, the lad who's selling it posts on here, as does the previous owner, look in the classifieds and check up on it.
