mate of mine is getting missfire when cold and accelerating, fine when warm. what could it be plugs-starts fine, ticks over fine then settles. fuel pump -new

My UK Turbo had a misfire and turned out to be the coil packs in the end,not all Impreza's have one per plug (some had a single one). You could try buying one and substituting it on each plug to see if the problem lies there....I would try a search on the site as there may be other causes too.
