'SR' That's new one on me! Does it really mean sunroof- why woould they feel the need to advertise that on the back of the car....next they'll be putting SW for steering wheel!!! FYI on the classics there has been a Prodrive edition, a McCrea edition, an RB5 a P1, a Terzo and I think that's it for the UK.

Don't worry about the banter it's just a bit of harmless fun; not car snobbery! FWIW many turbo 2000s have been modded, mine for example, has 340bhp and similar torque, so many STi owners would need to think twice for taking the pee on that basis alone!

Anyone asked you for pics yet, that usually happens fairly quick to female members on here!

Hehe ok ill let you off, just had a really funny week with keyboard terrorists on certain forums, glad to hear this ones ok, and no lol nobody has asked me for pics and I wouldnt put any up as thats the precise reason I've been getting griefed of late! You wouldnt believe the things people say - wierdos. You cant just have a nice pic of yourself without someone wanting to bring you down these days, hey ho

Anyhoo back on topic, I have since been informed that yes it means sunroof as some don't have it, and yes I've heard a lot of tales of people tuning them up to a respectable degree so watch out

Hi Chantelle,

Not to sure how much you know about scoobs so do not get offended.

Never heard of an SR BTW.

basics
UK cars - generally UK turbos models with some ltd editions
or Imports generally called WRX's or STI's again with some ltd editions. Jap cars tend to have more BHP although need setting up for UK fuel or just run on 99ron or they can and do go POP!

Have a look at the SIDC (website) FAQ section which is pretty good re the differences/specs of the cars

Rule of thumb on looking at classics if it has a rear w/wiper it is a jap import

Hiya all! Don't know if you read but about 11 posts ago I said I was told it was definately sunroof so mystery over

Yeah Paul I am relatively new to the scoobie scene, all I know there is a 1.6gl, a 2.0 sport, a 2000 turbo, a wrx, a wrx sti and a p1

fisher, the viewing went great, the car was immaculate drove liek a dream 87k but full engine rebuild by subaru at 60k so the engine is more like 27k, just fell in love with it instantly, needless to say, we brought it home

Had so much fun and it hasn't even been a week! I am just checking now to see if my other half has put pics on here yet if not i will put some up

Cheers x

Good work, mine was almost like that originally although a MY00 so a couple more colour coded bits but thats all.

You'll be surprised what a differrence a couple of simple mods will make. De-tango front end is a first

de-tango on a classic generally means, bumper lenses, side repeaters and those silly orange blocks. Pop the blocks out with a flat screw driver and spray em black (or whatever colour you wish )

if you spray them the stonechips show up orange, i coated mine in nitromors and the orange paint washed off leaving bare black plastic, heres a pic of my old car with it done. i wish i still had it ,*DBM still the best colour!

regards
dave

*since we are doing abreviations DBM = Deep/Dark Blue Mica

Good point. I wasn't sure how easy the orange paint would come off

nitromors is quite strong, so best to "stipple" it and move it about with a stiff brush, wash it off then reapply nitromors working hard at the bits you missed, do this a couple of times and it is done! much easier than undercoating then spraying black as it is black plastic anyway!!

dave
