Default Gas !

Up-date !

Today I got a demand for £570 !
The farce started in November 2007 when I gave my details to British ***... after paying off my "Occupier" account, to the sum of £606.

Sadly the debt was transferred to my "named" account, but not the credit.

Thus the tale starts....

Every two weeks I rang and asked for someone to sort the problem out. No problem I was told....
In January this year I informed them that I would cease further payments if I didn't get someone to correct the mess.
In February I confirm that I would rather go to court and let a judge decide who's incompetant.

I finally receive an e-mail from accounts.management ! One Tracey Blain(e?) who says ring me...
I ring all week to find she's taken a weeks annual leave
One of her team then attempts to help...

I am then informed that I have cancelled my DD !

Then receive a bill for £400 ?

So I call again and they tell me it's gone to the back office for processing, but why transfer £303 I ask ? No answer.

I call again two weeks later and Grace in Wakefield tells me it's all sorted and she'll ring me back in a week to confirm... guess what she didn't/couldn't.

Today i received a bill threatening dis-connection in several days or £570 ! When I know I owe about £90.... so I get on to "collections"

The guy explains that "whoever" tried to transfer the funds didn't have "authorisation"... so they lost it in the system.

He calls back to say "Ignore any more letters...", like I trust them after five months of aggravation ! So to twist the knife I ask him to restore my DD payments.
So he puts them up to £40 a month... even though it's warm now and my gas useage will shrink to nearly zero through the summer.

And they wonder why I am going to swap suppliers as soon as my "balance" reaches zero !

I would love to ask the ombudsman what he thinks but I can hardly be RS'ed...

Thanks British Gas ( a French company...)

mate i know where ur coming from, my g/f had this, they wanted to charge her like 400 for 6 months electricity when she lives on her own in a 1 bedroom flat, they made her soo upset and they keep saying yes madam it is being sorted, eventually she got the names and times of people she spoke to and one bloke took her plea to sort it to heart and he went and got it done properly, needless to say she now has a top up meter so this will never happen again, british *** are hopeless and a disappointing company i must say

remember when the old boys use to say "in my day + before the war + what this country coming to"

we are fast becoming a "bubble wrap computer says no press 5 you will have to speak to another person this call is being recorded for law courts we've sent you a letter not my fault speed camera money maker i'm happy to help that's not my department did you read the small print CCTV safer can't touch me pot hole will not last after warranty price bigger item smaller between 8am and 9pm can't go there out of stock don't know about that i only work here greedy government won't affect us do they think we're dumb more tax !"

how often in a day do you hear any of the above ?
why can't we speak to one person face to face and get it sorted in one day ?

I feel for you mate - today's dealings are nothing but a headache

I got a call today from B.G., an "ethnic" parrot....

Everything I said she repeated with seemingly no comprehension.... so I ask her to ring back later when I wasn't asleep....

NO LOL !

After 18 months I had £1600 of gas and electricity written off by Yorkshire Electricity due to their incompetence. Bailiff letter once amoth. Followed by a phonecall to them. They were very professional and understanding. This was followed by a call to YE saying if you don't pay we'll send the bailiffs round. All down to an engineer not taking a reading when a new meter was installed. Don't give in...
