Default Peoples best MPG in an Impreza

I was quite impressed with the MPG i got the other day with the scoob, i know its by far not the worlds best at all, but for my scooby i thought it was good.
I had to follow a mini bus on a journey for 113.4 miles, the first 13 miles was round town and the rest was on the motorway.
The mini bus was one of those ones that is restricted to 62mph , i used 14.70 litres of the good stuff, V-power , so with 4.54 litres to the gallon that works out as 35mpg, not bad for an impreza.
i know someone will have probably done better , so lets hear what people have got, not just impreza's but other high performance cars as well, would be interesting to hear what people have done

I think you might have set a world record!!! Breaking 30mpg is impressive enough.

Are you sure you weren't being towed?

150 miles to 25litres in my Cosworth 2.5L 500+bhp Spec C, coming back from TOTB last year. I was surprised to say the least, but then it was a gentle motorway cruise.

So if I bought your Spec C, I could help save the planet? I didn't notice that in the ad

I got shot of my WRX many months ago, and never managed over 30mpg.

However in my replacement car (half the bhp of the WRX), I zeroed the trip computer on the way home (dual carriageway much of the way) and almost not quite, managed 80mpg to when I stopped at my house!!!

Motoring and traffic info, car parks and petrol stations - powered by Multimap

If the link works, I got that far on half a tank.

Wasn't pissing about on the way home either.

I'd say that when we are talking Imprezas, the best mpg is your lowest surely? The lower the figure, the more fun you have had

So on that note I've managed about 15mpg.

I can easily use a full tank in well under a day.

7.30am - Brim tank with V-power @ Whitemere Pool

Join rush hour traffic towards Newcastle, travel along the NCLE riverside, join A1 @ Scotswood.

8.30am ish meet my mate on the A1 and nash up to Port Seton

Return journey via country roads, Jedburgh etc.

15.30 ish Arrive back at Whitemere Pool and brim the tank from empty.

Some "silly" speeds were involved.

I used a full tank in 76miles on a track day at Snetterton, but I was obviously enjoying myself

Normally get around 230-250miles per tank in my UK WRX Bugeye with not many mods.

Best was 36.7 Oxford to the Shell garage E of Snetterton (ie about 150 miles) on a mix of dual carriageway, B road and A road. Car's a PPPd 05 WRX.

Got ca. 34 on a long motorway run from Scotland to England in daytime traffic last year; wasn't dawdling at 50 in the nearside lane, either.

It's all about how hard you get on the power and how gentle you are on the brakes, IMO.
