I have come up with an Idea and I need all your help with it!

For partly selfish reasons in that I too am at the stage of what Exhaust to get and because the same question is asked alot on this forum I would like to make a sound database.

This is where I need your help.

Please record your exhaust sound at Idle and with some rev'ing.

The easiest way I can think of would be to record it and upload to Youtube on which i will make a Scooby Sounds profile etc blah blah ( then people can see what it looks like too )

To make it consistant

Please set your camcorder, phone etc about 3 meters away off set from the pipe
( Make sure your car is already warm )

Idle for about 20 seconds

Medium rev'ing for another 20

Then some higher rev'ing for the finale

Then email it to me.

On the email please state the model of your car
The exhaust make and type
If its cat back, fast cat, decat.
Rough power gains if known.

I will then sort them all and get them uploaded.

I hope you are all up for this, if not its gonna be a fairly short list :P

Its do able and im sure lots of people do

But it would be easier imo if they were all held in one place and with the information that people want to know about them.

Some of the vids on Youtube are great others are just pointless.

nice idea though, as years ago I was trying to find out a suitable backbox and wanted to know what they all sounded like on idle and on revs. Apart from the sound files on scoobyworlds website, there isnt anything.

I shall see what I can do

I think its a good idea but why not just upload to youtube and then dump a link in this thread with the above information and then you can cut and add it all to post number 1.

That way the first post will contain all the video links and info.

What are your thoughts?

Wouldnt really make much difference. Less work for me I guess

But i think it would be tidier to have in under one account on Youtube and then sticky a link somewhere on Scoobynet.

I have already created ScoobySounds profile just waiting for Media now

I will add a vid of my old STI and TSL Firestorm Exhaust tonight to get things rolling.

sounds like a good idea. but it wont show the occasional backfire pops.
I've just had my exhaust fitted. I'll record it tomorow.
