Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Tramlining ?

From: I'm still around in deepest Essex, now with a Fiesta ST-2
I've got the above fitted to the standard 17" wheels on my 05 STI, They've only got about 4k on them so plenty of tread left , but they do Tramline lots . I've had the geometry adjusted , and am about to have Prodrive springs fitted too . I just wondered if anyone else noticed they seemed to tramline more than usual or is it just me
(the previoius Bridgestones did too , but were on their last legs when I got it)

Hi Dave - I've been running these (excellent tyres) since July and noticed no tramlining to speak of when I had them fitted. However, now they're pretty worn down (and due for imminent replacement) they're tramlining quite a bit. But even so, nothing like the Bridgestone RE070s used to
It might be worthwhile getting your geometry checked.

Dave, I think at those pressures you are way too low - when I had mine fitted by Zak, I was told 38front 34rear and at those pressures, I have had no problems whatsoever - sooooo much nicer than the REO70's!

Thats way too high
all you will do there is cause wear to the centre of the tyre and reduce overall grip.Tony
With regards to pressure, a couple of pointers:
Firstly use a decent gauge, not the one at the garage..!
Second, indicated pressures are from cold, so check first thing in the morning. If you drive to the garage >1mile you could see as much as 4psi over a cold tyre..!
Don't believe it, try it. Test pressures cold and then again after a STEADY drive, let alone a spirited one..!
I invested in a cheap foot pump (were half price at Halfords recently) which allows me to check and adjust with cold tyres..
