Default turbo timer

can someone please tell me what these do in laymans terms, pros cons etc

i ended up bying one today..and dont really know why lol.

It's simply to force you to leave the engine running for a predetermined amount of time after you have taken the keys out of the ignition to give your turbo(s) time to spool down and cool off a bit before the oil feed is cut when the engine shuts down.

It simply amazes me the amount of people that buy "performance" parts that have absolutely no idea why they've bought them lol!!
