To clarify
50:50 Front Rear
with open viscous center diff

In standard guise.
Will power understear.
And lift off/trail brake overstear.

so am i now, the centre diff on my car was knackered the garage replaced it but still had the same problem ,they took the car back did some mystery work on it,fixed it ,and told me it was now running 50/50 instead of 60/40 .by that time (4 weeks later) (and near £1000) i was just happy to have the car back in working order.

DCCD equipped car's have a viscous coupling centre diff, basically two big magnets floating in some fluid type stuff.

When a voltage is applied the centre diff starts to 'lock' by reducing the amount of slip so power goes from being transferred mostly to the rear wheels to being shifted equally front and back to full lock.

RA's are quite lairy with the diff in open mode (most of the power is sent to the rear wheels), they can and will bite back hard in the wet.

Would pointing out that no Type-RAs had DCCD and that only STI Type-RAs did, make a pedant?

LOL

DCCD only on STI Type RA and R.

The split here is rear bias but not a fixed percentage. Depending on where it is set - for example it might be sending 69 to rear 31 to front or move it again it might be 58 to rear and 42 to front.
No matter where you set it - it is probably going to power overstear (its just to what degree). This makes these cars potentaily more of a handful and a touch more difficult to control on the limit.
