only if registered before 2001.This one will be registered this year so will be in the highest bracket as the ESVA requires the emissions figure on the logbook.Remember they go by the date of registration not date of manufacture

it only applies to cars registered after march 2001 so the majority of classics are fine.My other impreza (STi Type R) is only £185 a year shame im selling it really as i love it and its cheap to run

I registered my import yesterday with the DVLA and i got charged the old rates of road tax (£101 for 6months and £185 for 12 months).However, mine was over 10 years old and didnt need an SVA test so may be different for a 99 plate. Hope that helps a bit

I thought date of registration is for the approximate year of build. Yes it will be first registered in the UK but they aren't going to give it a new style 08 plate, it will go on the letter for its year and as such should only get pre 01 tax bills....
