Question slipping clutch, self repairing?

a few weeks ago i noticed that my clutch was slipping so i booked it into a Subaru garage for a week later. during this time the clutch has stopped slipping. i cancelled the garage and carried on as normal.

in the last month the clutch slipped again then righted itself but i have now noticed a worrying noise. i can here a grinding rubbing noise inside the car towards the back seats. when i stop the car the noise stops. the noise is the same when cornering or going straight.

i cannot afford to put it in a garage till next month but i still need the car, school holibobs. i know it needs to be seen by a professional but in the meantime any ideas on what the problem might be?
thanks in advance

As said in other thread, could poss be wheel bearings. Maybe also rear brakes worn low, can make noises like you described.

No they can make noises at a constant speed/during cornering etc. Depends how bad they are.

Very easy for a mechanic to check, and a quote wouldnt cost anything, but would put your mind at rest

Will more than likely be the centre bearing in transmission...Had that on mine it sounds like it is from the back but it isn't

it will get worse I would have it checked you do not want a bearing to fail??? If it is just a bearing you can have them replaced alot cheaper than having to do a whole gearbox????

sometimes clutch plates can gather crap on them, then can sometimes be cured by a heavt launch/pulloff
