Power, Handling, and Interior Upgrade advice
Hi all its that time of the year again and I am in search of more power…. And a few other little mods.
1, Handling…. Mods so far. Whiteline rear ARB, Prodrive springs, Prodrive oz 18” alloys and Goodyear F1 eagles (xl).
Planning on adding Anti lift kit…..strut braces front and rear (is a Hawkeye the same fit as any other newage) any other ideas guys, thoughts welcome….
2, Interior….. 2 Sparco Evo race seats , harness and harness bar, and a Gizzmo Special Edition Dual Stage Shift Light, would love the launch control as well but don’t think my gearbox would thank me for that…
3, Power …. The target is 350BHP so I am looking for advice on the best way to achieve this target… new turbo ??, intercooler Zen recommended a second hand STI but the price of front mounts in some of the group buys has made me wonder …. Induction kit with a cold air duct from removing the front fogs….. I would also love to make the car pop and bang a little can this be mapped in with out causing damage or a drop in performance … would I need to loose the sports cat ??
Current spec.
Full exhaust with sports cat and afterburner vortex
New fuel pump
STI panel filter
Zen remap (280 bhp ish)
Short throw gear setup
Whiteline rear ARB
Prodrive springs
Prodrive oz 18” alloys
Goodyear F1 eagles (xl)
Ferodo DS2500 pads
braided brake lines
6 Pot ap racing front brakes
Prodrive rear wing
revolution splitter
revolution grill kit
Prodrive WRC mud flaps
Kenwood DVD head
JLB speakers
Thanks guys for any help offered I also ways prefer to have some knowledge before I go talk to Zen so I can ask the right questions….

Well I think zen is flat out at the min building his TA car so I thought I could get some background info from you “muppets”.. also help me price it all up and have an understanding of what parts are the best on the market quality is important I hate regretting buying something when you find out you could have gone for something better or even cheaper etc
i dont think a sti turbo will make 350 +

Handling,
Not sure if your model benefits from the uprated front ARB, but yes to that if it does. Anti-Lift kit definately and solid drop links if required (again not sure what is needed on the hawkeye). Geometry set-up (likes of PowerStation). Strut braces as stated.
With these mods alone (even with your standard suspension and Prodrive springs) will be like chalk and cheese compared to what you have now.
In my opinion, the whiteline handling kit and geometry set-up transform a standard newage for a fairly modest outlay.
Interior,
If you are using the car everyday, I would suggest you REALLY think about having these kinds of fixed back bucket seats and harnesses. I have these and if the car was for everyday, I personally would not do it.

Cheers for the info, with regards to the seats I find the wrx standard seat are not that supportive and you sit way to high up kind of takes away from the sporty feeling of the rest of the car. Think I need to go try some before I spend any cash on them. I am still young tho just turned 24 so comfort is not that much of an issue
I have read the post about the safety issues but I have also read that roll cages are very dangerous as well unless you where a helmet and don’t think that’s going to impress the girls much. I take it you mean the danger of rolling over and being fixed into the seat. They must be safer in any other crash scenario tho
The webmaster has posted on one of my threads and its not for a warning sweet

If you want to sit tighter in your seat, I have one of these and they are worth considering.
They sell them in the SIDC online shop

Wouldnt bother with a front mount for power resons if you going for 350, get an sti v8 tmic good for 450bhp and less lag than with a fm. your injectors are 505cc good for up to 400bhp, a td05 18g will get you to your target

I got a very good set of STi seats from the sale section on here, very easy to fit and so much better than the WRX seats. They cost less for a whole set, front and back than your sparco seats will cost each.
Look in the 4 sale section and you may be as lucky as i was.
