Good specialists in West Midlands?

Good specialists in West Midlands?
Well, looks like I'm taking the plunge and going from a non-turbo to a WRX imminently... Looking at an 04 WRX wagon now, with 42k on the clock and full service history... Not seen it yet, but I expect that I'll be looking at brake discs/pads and maybe some other goodies in the forseable... Can anyone recommend any good scooby specialists on the west side of birmingham?
Also, I'm not a great fan of the standard service schedules that manufacturers put out with their cars, and I suspect the WRX could probably do with some health checks once I get it (particularly worried about timing belts etc).
Also.. (while I'm here I might as well fill my boots and ask some noobie questions) what are the most important, no brainer, upgrades and service items to fit? I'm thinking of air filters, better pads, new plugs etc.
Any help, and any links to noobies guide to wrx ownershp much appreciated.

hmmm... well, it's got 46k on the clock and only a service history to 30k... and they wouldn't entertain the 9.5k for my 06 R Sport 21k... so, the search continues...
Anyone know what an 06 R Sport Wagon with 21k should go for?

I live in NI now and took my 02 WRX back to API at xmas for a service and MOT. Made the excuse to the wife I was visiting my sister but only needed to stop for 3 days

OK - API is now firmly in my mind as the place to try when I need help! I emailed them today to see if they offer a loan car service as I live a good way away, and I expect anything major needs the car to be kept at least overnight.
Well... As dealers are only offering me 9k on my car I'm going to stick my R Sport in the autotrader... dealers are selling similar spec cars for just under the 11k mark... I reckon 10.5k should get a sale... especially as it still has almost 12 months suby warranty left. It's a hassle but you can't snif at an extra grand or more...
Are there any major reasons to get an 05 rather than an 04 WRX - any problems on one of the years that I could do with avoiding?
