No mate, that is the engine type, but you are in the right area.
Just behind the EJ20 towards the inlet manifold you will find a smooth part of casing that straddles the join in the crankcases, on this panel you will find 4x letters comprising of A's & B's (this tells you what size pistons you have fitted) On the same section you will find your engine number.

have found this number 9138 219275 its below the blue intercooler pipe , but cant see anymore as the intercooler bracket is over the top , think there is also another number just to the right of it think about 6/7 digits long ..
so is this the right number or is it the 6/7 digit number
what should it look like if these are not the ones

No worries mate,
I can't help you with piccis i'm afraid.
I'm afraid you were missled about it being under the intercooler, you need to stand looking at your engine from the front towards the back you need to look down in the gap between the back of the alternator and the inlet manifold, in the center of the block you will find the small smooth area of block that I spoke about in my previous post. All you are interested in are the numbers engraved into the block as the letters have nothing to do with the engine number. I beleive that the engine number is 7 digits long.
Good luck lol
