I understand you have to heat them up and take them apart then do something with the amber parts? fitting silvervision bulbs to complete? Also people paint them. Does anyone offer a guaranteed service?
I fancy some painted in an anthracite colour or black

I very much doubt it as it is a DIY mod and very simple to do.All you do is remove headlight from car (obviously) remove all 8 or 9 cross head screws in the headlight, remove the white plasic brackt (2 screws) remove all bulbs, pre heat the oven to 100 degrees approx and put the light in for 10 mins. When you remove it the sealent will be soft enough to pull the 2 sections of the light apart remove the silver frame pop out the yellow bit, spray with plastic primer, then follow up with a couple of coats of satin black and once its all dry put it all back together job done

If you type in 'detango' in search, there are 2 superb, very detailed threads from 2 members on here on how to detango, step by step. Myself and my friend, both of us with blobeye cars, are detangoi-ng our cars one day after the easter weekend, so will post and let you know our experiences!

IMHO the reflector doesnt need painting..!
Hardest part is getting headlights out (blobeye). First time around it can be a PITA as you don't know where to pull to pop out the auto leveling ball socket..
Well worth it though.. It's one of them mods that's not obvious. You'll see a de tango'd blob and think that looks good, not realising why until you compare a tango'd one right next to it, IYSWIM..? Makes the front end cleaner IMO..
Sprayed amber bulb silver originally, before fitting Silvertec/Phillips..
