just back from remap

don't mind posting at all, £550 plus vat for the map, but that includes the initial licence, so any future maps will be a couple of hundred cheaper, also had a 10k service done at the same time so came to about 860ish all together.

Sounds like your Ecutek license was paid up front, or you are into custom ecu's which aint fair.... as "we" can't afford them..... yet !

Yes, that sounds like map tweak fees if it is Ecutek. The initial map is usually around £550 plus due to the high license fee.

No, I refer only to Ecutek - first full mapping session plus Ecutek licence fee was indeed around £550 (with AndyF). However, I was actually querying the cost of subesquent remaps. My last remap from Paul at Zen involved 3 hours of work and it cost me the princely sum of £125

I don't believe it does. I had a couple of diagnostics post remap at dealers for a couple of fault codes and it doesn't affect things at all. I'm sure a mapper would put your mind at rest, but I don't believe it is detectable. I have declared the mapping with other mods to my insurer though.

AFAIK, although it doesn't affect faults codes etc.. and the dealer probably won't notice unless they're looking for it, it is detectable to anyone with ECUTEK facilities, it has to be so that a ECUTEK dealer can tell whether the car has a license!
Also a dealer might not mention it, until you want to make a warranty claim!

Top insurers for mods seem to be Keith Michaels, A-Plan and Greenlight and declaring mods with any of the above shouldn't have much affect on your premium depending on your age I suppose.
