Default TD05-18G on New Age what to expect?

Hi Going to get this turbo fitted to my car in the next few weeks MY53 blobeye. Anyone else with a blobeye had it fitted. I'm using this to hopefully get nearer 370 - 380bhp (Type UK with upgraded TMIC and CAIK) currently running 350 - 355 (printout says 355bhp) on the standard vf35 from powerstation with miltek decat. WHat sort of torque can I expect and what other mods would anyone suggest before I go.

Note

1) Want to run on V-power (no boosters)
2) It's this turbo that I want (next build in maybe a few years would be a 2.5 transplant and better turbo to go maybe 450/450
3) I need spool up to remain fast (hence going for the 18G)
4) Looking for around 370 - 380bhp

What torque are you guys getting from this turbo on bug/blobeyes?

I'm running this turbo. Car is excellent. Becomes a monster, believe me. I nearly torque steered into the curb yesterday from a 75% 2nd gear acceleration, slightly damp.

Without Octane Booster it made (DD) 372/341.

Search for a thread started by myself, about spooling on the 18g. Was quite recent. That will give you spool times.

I have ported/wrapped headers and up-pipe, so it might spool quicker for me, including a very unrestrictive exhaust.

What else do you want to know??

RLE also has an 18g. He makes 392/350(ish) without octane booster.

Some cooler plugs, NGK7's were recommended to me.

Headers, ported/wrapped (for quicker spool), or GT Spec (if wanting high power/torque).

Maybe a 3 port boost solenoid for greater boost control.

This is just what I want to know. How long does it take to port headers/wrap If I asked the tuner to do it?

I have an 18 on mine and used to run ported headers, Have switched to lateral headers and theres a marked inprovment in torque with no loss of spool-up,

Again a very quick spooling turbo on a 2.0 that will hold boost till red line. Makes it very easy to hit the limiter in the lower gears if your not carefull.

Mines also around the 370bhp with just over 350 of torque.

I can e-mail a delta dash run if you want?

Sounds like you need to get the geometry set-up on your car!

True Andy.

Yes, get that link up for the headers. I could be interested. What was the price for them? Coated?

Webbie; had it done at PS. The back just wants to overtake the front Press the pedal and cling on. (I was trying to catch up to Playsatan in his focus. )

I got mine from Harvey, just porting the existing ones. With up-pipe cost me £400. I see he has a banner on here now.

Mocom were doing a GB on GT Spec ones. Also Flat4Online does them.

Laterals headers are the same as roger clarks etc. But at a much better price. Mine are wrapped rather than coated and also came with a roll of wrap. Give mark a call for price etc.

Delta results e-mailed

Called a few times, no answer. Can't you just post your price up here, or was it a "special" discount?

I feel a groupbuy coming on ... but I need mine in 2 weeks. Anyone interested? If they are I'll start a GB in the groupbuy section.
