Default How many horses and torques....

...from a MY05 WRX PPP with no more engine mods (other than a panel filter) by getting it remapped?

I thought I read once that the WRX will go to about 320bhp on standard internals (not sure what mods you need to get to this figure). I am purely interested if to plan a remap in the future or not?

I think for the 320 you're lOOking at changing to a VF35.

Not sure of the figure a PPP WRX goes to with just a remap. Others will be along to confirm.

The characteristics of your 2.5 engine will be very different from my 2.0 so I can't compare with Hawkeyes. Nice looking motor you have though

Is that not on your 2.5 though Bushi ? Would have thought 280 ft/lb would be more likely on a remapped & decatted 2.0 with a std TD04.

If the standard generic PPP map quotes 261bhp (265PS) and 257ftlb torque, then a good mapper should be able to get a little bit more of both

However, even Powerstation only quote 270 bhp from a remap and full exhaust with sports cat.

With a replacement turbo, they recon 315bhp is possible. I've been told that around 290bhp is the limit with the standard turbo. (Mine's an 05 WRX too.)

Then my RR output seems pretty good at 267bhp and 290ft/lb (~400Nm). The bloke did say I had a good one as he'd seen a lot of PPPs and not held them in high regard.

My MY03 WRX is pushing 280BHP and 293LbFt torque after an Andy F map, see my scooby for list of mods done previous to mapping.

320BHP will definately need a change of Turbo to either a VF34, VF35 or TD05-16G, standard WRX TD04 is generally good for 290-300BHP.

Nice one Think I have dropped on a good PPP so wont bother doing anything on that.

Seems you have some of the same suspension mods as I am getting. I take it you are pleased with them?

Aye, really tightens up the handling, had the springs done first and thought the handling was good then but when I done the rear arb and solid droplinks - Took it out the back road to work and had an absolute hoot that morning on the twisty B-road!!

Will do the front some time soon and probably get an anti-lift kit as well, but that might not be for a few months yet.

DK,

A very useful guide to what's possible at various levels of mod/tune on the 01-05 2.0 UK/Euro WRX (218/225bhp) on AndyF's website here

Takes you from the basics to the moon!!!

Hope it helps fella.

Cheers,

Stewart.

Its interesting seeing your power figures. I've got an 04 WRX Wagon with...

Ninja BB
Ninja res'd centre section
Prodrive de-cat centre
STi panel filter
TMIC splitter

The car was RR'd at PE in Feb 07 and put out 269bhp @ 5900 / 250ftlb @ 5500ish

Just goes to show how a re-map can change the torque figure
