Default PISTON SLAP

please can anybody help, i was giving my car some hammer yesterday for a few mile on some B roads for about 5 miles, then when i got to 30mph limit the car was making a little rattle from under the bonet, i would rev to 2.5k it would start never took pass 3.5k. today its louder. is this piston slap?? its a 2000 classic 73k mile just been serviced. if so whats the damage to engine if i still drive and the damage to my wallet,

If it is still there when the engine is warm, no. Sounds like you have spun a bearing. :sad:

Only way to fix is a new engine or rebuild.

yes there hot or cold, what you mean spun a bearing.

He means one of the big end bearings has gone = New bottom end or rebuild

How often do we hear of a bearing failure just after a service! It really should only be coincidence?

I had a another scoob and i did the same, but dealer told me pistons gone low compression, wil not no till inbits. and that was just after a service. Wh is it just after a service, its not really modded so why this problem with scoobs.

thanks for the info scooby clinic says £2000 should have back on the road.
