What's my STI...
... and I'm not talking about a rash
I have just bought a 04 WRX STi and was wonder what they are known as. I've got as far as "MY04" "Blobeye / peanut". Not sure if it is a STI8 or 9, can anyone give me the 'slang' for this model.
I need to find a good strut brace, pod and gauges but need to now what my car is called!!!
Thanks in advance.

If its a uk car then its an MY04, if its a jdm car then its an MY04, if you continue the numbering (only works on jdm cars as they had the numbering) then it would be a version 10 (01 v7/02 v8/03 v9/04 v10 etc)

Anyhows - to the OP, its a Blobeye (Isn't it mostly our American friends who call them peanuts?). Say that and everyone will know what your talking about - try and use numbers and you'll just start an argument

I didn't notice one in the engine bay, I will have to look again when I pick the car up. All I noticed under the bonnet was the big intercooler with STi stamped on the top!

I wouldn't worry too much about a strut brace really anyhow - they don't do much to add stiffness in an Impreza which has a pretty stiff chassis anyhow. Use the money to buy a Whiteline or Perrin rear anti-roll bar and droplinks instead, which will give a far more noticeable improvement.
