Can't help - but I had 2 rims buckled by large hole, claimed off council, then the same 2 rims (brand new) buckled in another hole 2 weeks later. Even with solicitor on it got nowhere. Bottom line is that "if they don't know the hole are there, they are not liable for damage they cause". Even though road was last inspected in Dec 2000, and damage was 3 months later they would not accept that the inspection interval was too long.

Just did this.

Call your councill and they will give you the number for the highways dept. Call them and ask for a claim form. Make sure you take photos of the pothole before the council get around to filling it in.

Cheers

Question

Thanks Stan for the info, big people rule by force so it seams like **** the small people.

There was a post a while ago that someone clamed off I think it was the highway authority and got there money back due to failing to maintain the public highway

Don't forget to take a ruler when you photograph the pothole. Puts it in perspective.

I claimed in 1996 off Leeds CC for a damaged tyre. No fuss.

Good luck,

TONY
