Brake Pads
Hi Guys
Could anyone give me a rough idea how long a set of brake pads should last, mines done 17,000 miles from new on a 55wagon PPP.
Should they last longer or is it time for some nice new ones if so any preferances, types of pads, rough prices would be nice too.
Cheers guys for the help and advice

My front pads lasted, if I remember right, 66,000miles and my rears were replaced at about 80,000miles.
But I do appreciate that I have done quite well, you may not be so lucky - but, 17,000miles is nothing IMHO.

I guess I don't drive on the brakes, I do use Engine Braking most of the time.
When I was learning to drive (a long time ago!) I was told that there is an egg under the brake pedal ..... it's stood me in good stead.
I cringe when I'm a passenger in the wifes car, as she drives on the brakes - hits them at the last possible moment ... whereas I slow down on the throttle - I consider I have 'lost' if I need to touch the brakes.
It results in a great mpg figure too.
