Scooby owners?Obviously a Cossie is soooo tunable to 500+bhp (on dodgy dynos!Realistically 480ish bhp!)
But for you scoobs what are the things you can do to increase power but not compromice reliability...a cossie with more than 350bhp IS unreliable..unless you spend thousands on other than engine upgades.
Please enlighten..serious question.

Phil,
It all depends on what engine you have to start with. The UK cars, you wouldn't want to run anymore than a REAL 300bhp through them, and even then they are on the edge of their reliability. Standard chipped cars go bang regularly (as do P1s) and this is why they have a reputation for being chocolate engines.
The STis can go up to about 40bhp more than this, but again you are on the edge of reliability (if not over it). Just look what Craig (aka Shaggy) has had to go through to get a reliable(ish!) 360bhp. The Scooby tuning is in its infancy, and a genuine 400bhp+ engine would cost a hell of a lot more than a full monte 500bhp Cossie engine (and be half as reliable ). On a Scoob, serious bhp means: different pistons, crank, rods, block, turbo, manifolds, intercooler, injectors, ECU etc, all of which are silly money compared to Cossie items (which as standard are more durable than the Scooby uprated parts ).
Pat got 500bhp out of a Scooby lump, but it lasted about five minutes on the engine dyno before it ended in tears (Pectel T6 management - £3.2k including loom!).
Hope this helps, as you won't get many Scooby owners volunteering to provide this info. Shaggy, R19KET (despite his open sandels), Pat (the Pectel) and Firefox are a few of the people to question directly about this, as they have been there and got the T-shirt.
Best regards
